A quarter held the opposite view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a later poll, 26 percent said the country needed a strong leader to make important decisions alone, while 48 percent said it did not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In another survey, 53 percent said they considered themselves democratically-minded, and 23 percent said they were not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Respondents seemed divided on foreign policy, with 41 percent backing a union with Russia and 26 percent backing an alliance with both Russia and the EU. One in five ticked the answer that Belarus should stay out of any geopolitical alliances, while 13 percent favored an alliance with the EU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A neutral policy of maintaining ties with the West and Russia would have the strongest potential for uniting different social groups, the pollster  concluded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>March 26, Pozirk.
