March 28, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Soldiers of the 38th Separate Guards Air Assault Brigade, from Brest, are holding a practical and tactical exercise taking into account the experience of the war in Ukraine, according to the Belarusian defense ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is part of a comprehensive exercise conducted in response to NATO\u2019s Steadfast Defender, a multi-domain exercise from late January to the end of May near Belarus\u2019 borders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cParatroopers are mastering a set of tactical tasks in various terrain arreas,\u201d the ministry said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cParticular attention is paid to using means of reinforcement, unmanned aerial vehicles and tactical medicine,” it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka inspected a tank battalion stationed in the Hrodna region\u2019s A\u0161miany district near the Lithuanian border, instructing the military and border guards to respond harshly to all border violations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He declared that Belarus and Russia do not intend to attack Western countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The defense ministry said it called up 5,000 reservists for training. The scale of Steadfast Defender is much bigger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It involves deploying forces from North America and other parts of the alliance to Europe. Over several months, complex multi-domain operations are to be conducted across thousands of kilometers, thereby enhancing civil-military cooperation and national and collective resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exercise, which involves up to 90,000 troops, is strategically located in several key European countries, including Finland, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden and the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Events are taking place from late January to the end of May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
