April 3, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The Kremlin is working to organize acts of terror in Belarus and blame them on the Kyiv-led Kastu\u015b Kalino\u016dski Regiment of \u0141uka\u0161enka opponents, Robert Lansing Institute (RLI) said<\/a>, citing an unnamed European intelligence official.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moscow has long been planning to drag Belarus into its war against Ukraine, the think tank said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Drawing Belarus into the war would create local pockets of hostilities along the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, which would force Kyiv to withdraw some of its reserve forces from the combat zone to the border with Belarus,” it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also argued that the toppling of Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka is becoming more likely as Russia has no visible prospects of advancing on Ukrainian battlefields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the past two years, RLI analysts have been pointing “to signs of Russia preparing to absorb Belarus and bring a puppet regime to power,” the institute said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will give Vladimir Putin “a whole range of new opportunities, including a total military call-up of Belarusian men,” it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
