{"id":77448,"date":"2024-04-03T23:49:50","date_gmt":"2024-04-03T20:49:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/77448\/"},"modified":"2026-02-24T20:40:57","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T20:40:57","slug":"belarus-faces-higher-job-dismissals-over-hires-in-early-2024","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/77448\/","title":{"rendered":"Belarus faces more dismissals over hires in early 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>April 3, <em>Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> In the first two months of 2024, Belarus saw a 2.3 percent higher rate of dismissals over recruitments, with 86,191 workers laid off compared to 84,248 hired, according to data from the National Statistical Committee (Bie\u0142stat).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The disparity was observed across various sectors, with agriculture, forestry and fishery registering an 8.6 percent gap; manufacturing, 3.8 percent; construction, 6.5 percent; retail, 17.8 percent; transportation and logistics, 9.3 percent; information and communication, 7.6 percent; public administration, 11.2 percent; and health care, 12.2 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notably, education and mining were the exceptions, showing a hiring surplus of 4.5 percent and 42.3 percent, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In February, according to Bie\u0142stat, the Belarusian economy employed about 4.13 million people, 0.09 percent more than in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier, BEROC academic director Le\u016d Lvo\u016dski told <em>Pozirk<\/em> that low unemployment compels companies to hire &#8220;whoever they can find&#8221; rather than skilled workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also read: <a href=\"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/70299\/\">Belarus reports unemployment rate of 3.5 percent for 2023<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>April 3, Pozirk.
