April 5, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarus-Venezuela relations get a boost as Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has approved<\/a> a draft intergovernmental agreement for air travel negotiations with the South American country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus’ national airline Bie\u0142avija was banned from sending aircraft to the EU after Minsk had forced<\/a> a European passenger plane to land to arrest an opposition blogger and his girlfriend in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the transport ministry, in 2023 Bie\u0142avija had regular flights to 20 airports in 10 countries, including Russia and India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian-Venezuelan relations continue to evolve as the two countries share economic and political interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In November, \u0141uka\u0161enka ordered officials to “review all projects” with Caracas, adding new areas of cooperation, if necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In February 2024, Belarus’ department of aviation announced preparations for “the signing of international air services agreements with Venezuela, Kenya and the Seychelles.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
