April 7, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>Belarusian Armed Forces have received a new batch of Russian-made Mi-35M attack helicopters, the defense ministry reported but did not specify the exact numbers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian pilots who had been trained in Russia flew the aircraft for more than 2,000 kilometers, it added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Designed in 2005, the Mi-35M helicopter is equipped with modern electronics and weapons and is used to destroy armored weapons and equipment, support troops on the ground and evacuate the wounded. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first batch of Mi-35M helicopters arrived from Russia in August 2023. Belarusian defense officials expected to have at least 12 such helicopters in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minsk has supported Russia\u2019s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 logistically and politically but has refrained from sending its army there. Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka agreed to host Russian nuclear weapons and mercenaries, causing concern among Western neighbors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
