{"id":79549,"date":"2024-04-13T10:39:00","date_gmt":"2024-04-13T07:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/79549\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"reprisals-two-arrested-for-posts-nizkiz-members-get-off-with-non-custodial-sentences","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/79549\/","title":{"rendered":"Reprisals: two arrested for posts, Nizkiz members get off with non-custodial sentences"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>April 13, <\/strong><strong><em>Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong>&nbsp;Sources linked to the police released on April 12 videos of a man arrested for online comments about a prison warden and of a Ukrainian charged with inciting hatred for posts about the Russian military.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the same day, human rights defenders reported that Nizkiz rockers got off with relatively light non-custodial sentences for their alleged role in the 2020 post-election protests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Arrest and charge for online comments<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police arrested Hienadz Pa\u0142onski, a former inmate, for comments about Alaksiej Staravojta\u016d, the recently deceased warden of Penal Colony No. 3, <em>Mediazona.<\/em><em>Belarus<\/em> reported citing a pro-government source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a separate development, police charged a Lviv-born Ukrainian with inciting hatred for allegedly abusive comments about Russian troops, a pro-government source reported without identifying the suspect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Trials<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MAYDAY.TEAM reported that Nizkiz band members Alaksandar Ilin, Siarhiej Kul\u0161a and D\u017amitryj Chala\u016dkin, were given two and a half years of restricted freedom in home confinement on protest-related charges on March 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Extremist list<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The interior ministry added 15 more names to the list of \u201cpersons involved in extremist activities,\u201d taking the total of entries to 3,975. The additions include the Nizkiz rockers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seven are serving prison terms, while the remaining eight have criminal records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Volha Patrusajeva and Alaksandra Kasko serving 18 months and 10 years in prison, respectively, are also on the list. Rights groups consider their persecution to be politically motivated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other additions include jailed Kanstancin \u0160asto\u016d, Anhielina Tamkovi\u010d, Andrej Pratasievi\u010d, Anatol Vanako\u016d and Siarhiej Buvaka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Political prisoners<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Human rights defenders designated 14 people as political prisoners, the Viasna Human Rights Center reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of them were convicted of insulting or defaming the head of state in social media posts and sentenced to terms of two to three years and a half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Siarhiej Jakubuonak<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ihar Novik<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Siarhiej Soc<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ihar Ivano\u016d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Illa \u0160ami\u0142a\u016d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Siarhiej Zielanko\u016d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ihar \u017duk<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pavie\u0142 Lipnievi\u010d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ja\u016dhien Chamianko\u016d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vadzim Bahryj<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Siarhiej Illin<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Arciom Ko\u0142asa\u016d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Natalla Rama\u0161ova<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alaksandar Barodzi\u010d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Evacuation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The BySol solidarity foundation has evacuated from Belarus Kryscina Mirsalimava who had been repeatedly arrested for helping political prisoners, <em>Vitebsk Ya Gulyayu!
