April 17,\u00a0Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong>\u00a0A Seimas committee on April 17 approved the proposal that Lithuania revoke residence permits from Belarusians and Russians who travel to their home countries more frequently than once in three months, Delfi<\/a> <\/em>reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frequent visits may give rise to threats to Lithuania’s national security, said the National Security and Defense Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The State Security Department suggested earlier that visits to Belarus should be limited to extraordinary circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian community in Lithuania has grown significantly in the last few years and now numbers more than 60,000 people, which makes it easier for Belarusian intelligence to find suitable recruitment targets,\u00a0Darius Jauni\u0161kis, director of the State Security Department, said last month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
