April 19, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarusian Prime Minister Raman Ha\u0142o\u016d\u010danka announced<\/a> at a meeting in Minsk yesterday that the composition of the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly (UNS) had been finalized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The national political body that approves the main domestic and foreign policy directions will convene on April 24\u201325.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The presidential press office quoted Ha\u0142o\u016d\u010danka as saying that it will comprise 1,162 hand-picked delegates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Local councils have delegated 350 people and pro-government organizations, 400.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ha\u0142o\u016d\u010danka said that 715 people observers will be invited, including “68 honored representatives of Belarusian society” and guests from the regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thirty-one foreigners will be in attendance, he added in apparent reference to officials from Russian-led organizations and foreign diplomats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka called for ensuring a “normal, controlled working process for the UNS, starting with the decoration of the city.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the meeting, Ha\u0142o\u016d\u010danka told state media journalists that it was pointless to invite Western observers. “There are embassies. If they want to come, they will come,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
