{"id":81416,"date":"2024-04-22T20:14:55","date_gmt":"2024-04-22T17:14:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/81416\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"belarus-to-build-port-in-russias-murmansk-by-2028","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/81416\/","title":{"rendered":"Belarusian company to build port in Russia\u2019s Murmansk by 2028"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>April 22, <em>Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Marski Termina\u0142 Varoty Arktyki, a Belarus-based company, will oversee the construction of a port in Russia&#8217;s Murmansk for the transshipment of Belarusian goods, under an agreement signed on Monday by its CEO Andrej Bunako\u016d and Murmansk Governor Andrei Chibis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The port which is to be built by 2028 will have a transshipment capacity of up to 30 million tons, <em>TASS<\/em> reported, citing Bunako\u016d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The construction will be reportedly financed by private investors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In May 2023, Belarusian Prime Minister Raman Ha\u0142o\u016d\u010danka justified the choice of Murmansk for port construction by the &#8220;unique opportunities&#8221; it offered, citing developed railroad infrastructure and non-freezing Kola Bay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The future &#8220;is the Northern Sea route&#8221; because &#8220;it basically offers direct access to the Atlantic,&#8221; he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minsk rerouted its potash exports from the Baltic ports to Russia after Lithuania stopped transit of Belarusian cargos and the United States imposed sanctions on the Belarusian potash giant Bie\u0142aru\u015bkali in February 2022.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>April 22, Pozirk.
