April 23, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has appointed \u015aviat\u0142ana Lubieckaja, a former MP, as Constitutional Court judge, according to a semi-official Telegram channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lubieckaja has received the highest qualification class of the 2nd rank. She is one step away from the highest judicial rank (there are seven in total).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the lower house of parliament, Lubieckaja chaired the standing committee on legislation and, among other things, drafted legislation governing the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The judicial system is not new to her. According to the Civil Control of the Judiciary project, from July 2002 to June 2008 Lubieckaja worked as a district judge at the Frunzienski District Court in Minsk. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also worked at the Partyzanski District Court until July 2010, the Masko\u016dski District Court until December 2013, and the Supreme Court until December 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is responsible for at least two politically motivated decisions. In October 2007, she sentenced two men to five and seven days in jail for petty hooliganism after police found them carrying European March leaflets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
