May 7, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Belarus and Southeast Asia countries are interested in developing military ties, Valeryj Ravienka of the Belarusian defense ministry said on X following his meetings with Mohammad Hasanuzzaman and Naveen Nijhawan, military attach\u00e9s of Bangladesh and India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both diplomats are accredited at their respective embassies in Moscow and are also in charge of relations with Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On March 26, the Belarusian defense ministry accredited Colonel Kingsley Zimbudzana from Zimbabwe as a military attach\u00e9, a few months after Ravienka announced Belarus’ intentions to achieve a breakthrough in relations with countries in Africa, Latin America, East, Southeast and Southwest Asia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2023, Minsk intensified cooperation with China, Cuba, India, Iran and Vietnam, he said in January, adding that military attach\u00e9s from 31 states were accredited in Minsk with eight representing NATO member countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ravienka was promoted from colonel to major general in mid February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
