May 10, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> More than 500 people from 22 countries have used the opposition’s one-stop-shop service in the six months since its launch, the United Transitional Cabinet reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initial task of the service, offered by the cabinet’s social policy office, was to help political prisoners and their families, as well as repression victims and their loved ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Unfortunately, people in Belarus are in a difficult situation and it seems that there is simply no help and support. More than 1,500 NGOs have been dissolved. There is a shortage of information, fear and distrust of public services. We offer an accessible and safe alternative,” said Volha Harbunova, the opposition’s social policy chief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The One Window service was launched on October 27, 2023. It has received queries about the sale of real estate in Belarus, evacuation from the country, domestic violence, help for people with disabilities, job search and other issues, Harbunova said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
