May 15, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Last year, the Chinese-Belarusian hi-tech hub Great Stone exported goods worth $135.8 million, while its imports soared by 43 percent to $248.5 million, the National Statistics Committee (Bie\u0142stat) said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deficit of the hub\u2019s foreign trade in goods widened 2.5-fold to $112.7 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Great Stone revenues reportedly rose by about 54 percent to 1.1 billion rubels (about $352 million).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The number of registered residents at Great Stone rose by 20 percent year on year to 120 companies employing 2,719 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Great Stone is a special economic zone stretching 112.5 square kilometers, located 25 km outside Minsk. The agreement to create the hub was signed in 2011.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first resident company was registered and construction began three years later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
