May 16, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> The stockpiles of unsold industrial goods increased by 11.6 percent since January 1 to 9.3 billion rubels ($2.9 billion) on May 1, the Belarusian National Statistical Committee (Bie\u0142stat) reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inventories rose by 1.1 percent year on year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the first quarter the inventories accounted for 68.4 percent of the average monthly output.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka on April 9 expressed concern about the build-up of inventories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWarehouses are bursting. In 2023, inventories increased by 23 percent,\u201d he said. \u201cThe responsible deputy prime minister is reassuring me: it\u2019s ok and it is always like that, we are going to sell everything. But we measure these stockpiles period to period. And how much equipment is stored at dealerships, which for many have become additional overseas warehouses?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka said that the trading houses of the Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ) stored almost 6,500 pieces of equipment, more than it produces in two months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Bie\u0142stat, industrial output rose by 7.7 percent in January\u2013April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
