May 19, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>Belarusian defense sector profits from supplying arms to Russia and circumventing Western sanctions, says an investigation by the BelPol association of former law enforcers posted on YouTube.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pielenh (Peleng) defense company, in which the Belarusian government holds a 49-percent stake, is supplying optical and other high-precision equipment to the Russian military, BelPol said, citing evidence that it found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company posted significant profits and expanded operations after the start of Russia’s full-scale war on Ukraine, the investigation noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shenzhen 5G Hi-Tech Innovation company acts as Pielenh\u2019s intermediary, connecting it to Chinese manufacturers and securing spare parts supplies. It cooperates with at least six Chinese companies whose number may grow in the future, BelPol said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pielenh reportedly received supplies worth $4.6 million under just two deals with Shenzhen 5G.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In mid-April, Washington imposed sanctions on Shenzhen 5G for cooperation with Pielenh, sanctioned earlier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shenzhen 5G CEO Aleh Jur\u010dyk and production manager Alaksandra Aksian\u010duk were also targeted by restrictions. Both are Belarusian nationals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
