May 27, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> U\u0142adzimir Kuchara\u016d in charge of the Minsk \u0421ity Executive Committee and Managua Mayor Reyna Rueda Alvarado have signed a cooperation agreement at their meeting in Minsk, the press office of the Minsk city executive committee reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agreement deals with trade, economic ties, research, technologies and culture, it noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Nicaraguan delegation is expected to visit Minsk-based businesses and get acquainted with city services, including public transport and the public utility management system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nicaragua is one of the few allies of Belarus at the United Nations. Last year, both did not support the General Assembly document condemning Russia for its war against Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later, both countries also voted against the resolution on the human rights situation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian embassy in Cuba, also responsible for relations with Nicaragua, has recorded a decline in bilateral trade since 2017. It amounted to about $1.2 million in 2021 and consisted mostly of Belarusian exports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
