Movement for Freedom.\n    <\/div>\n  \n       <div class=\"block-image__author\">\n                <span>(Telegram)<\/span>\n    <\/div>\n     <\/figcaption>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>May 28, <em>Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Some 6,700 Belarusians have voted in the election for the opposition Coordination Council (KR), just a tiny share of the critics who have fled reprisals or stayed in the country without the opportunity to protest in the streets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the early hours of May 28, the KR announced the following preliminary results:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Solidarity<\/strong>: 104 votes, 0 mandates<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Liberty<\/strong>: 432 votes, six mandates<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>European Choice<\/strong>: 605 votes, eight mandates<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Our Cause<\/strong>: 489 votes, seven mandates<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Voice of Diasporas<\/strong>: 184 votes, zero mandates<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Independent Belarusians<\/strong>: 616 votes, eight mandates<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Prakopje\u016d-Jahora\u016d Bloc<\/strong>: 1,050 votes and 13 mandates<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Team \u0141atu\u0161ka and Movement for Freedom<\/strong>: 2,358 votes, 28 mandates<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Down with Fear!<\/strong>: 226 votes, three mandates<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Strana Dlya Zhizni<\/strong>: 61 votes, zero mandates<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Youth Offensive<\/strong>: 598 votes, seven mandates<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The election was held online on May 25\u201327 under a proportional system, with a gender quota for women. Belarusians had to submit scans of their passports in order to vote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/84410\/\">one study<\/a>, about 500,000\u2013600,000 Belarusians left their country after the 2020 presidential election by January 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Vote leaders<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pavie\u0142 \u0141atu\u0161ka is a former government minister who joined the opposition in 2020. His National Anti-Crisis Management (NAM) is based in Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Movement for Freedom has its roots in the 2006 election campaign. In November 2021, the Supreme Court revoked its Belarusian registration.
