May 30, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Solidarity foundations have collected<\/a> more than \u20ac20,000 for Belarusian political prisoners’ children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The money will be used to help the children of current and former political prisoners with summer holidays. A remittance of \u20ac100 will be made for each child under the age of 16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fundraising campaign continues. The target is \u20ac23,400.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, \u20ac28,006 was raised to support 270 children from 149 families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is not a single family in Belarus that has not been affected by repression in one way or another, said opposition leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja in a video address to the Prague congress on Belarusian political prisoners a week ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Thousands of Belarusian children are growing up in single-parent families only because the dictator wanted it that way,” the politician said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
