June 3, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Literary critic Jazep Janu\u0161kievi\u010d’s foreword to the two-volume “Dramatic Works, Narrative Poems and Stories” by Vincent Dunin-Marcinkievi\u010d has been added to the list of extremist content based on the May 24 ruling by the \u017dytkavi\u010dy District Court, Homiel region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On March 11, the two-volume book was removed from the extremist content list by the Homiel Regional Court, which overruled the November 8 decision by the \u017dytkavi\u010dy District Court on the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The court initially labeled the foreword and the poems “Winds Float” and “Old Grandfather’s Talks” extremist content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The poems were presumably written in 1861, shortly before the January Uprising (1863\u20131864). They are dedicated to Belarusians’ struggle for liberation from Russian imperial influence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collection, the decision on which was made in May, was published by the state publishing house Mastackaja Litaratura in 2007\u20132008.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vincent Dunin-Marcinkievi\u010d (1808\u20131884) was a Belarusian poet, playwright and theater organizer. He is considered the country\u2019s first modern classic. The Minsk City Court is located on Dunin-Marcinkievi\u010d Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
