June 5, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has urged the Danish people to boycott Western sanctions against Belarus in his congratulatory message on Denmark’s Constitution Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian ruler described sanctions as “unilateral illegitimate restrictions” that “destroy trust and respect,” calling on Danes to \u201csupport the Belarusian peace initiatives,\u201d his press office reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the past few years, the European Union’s countries have imposed multiple restrictions on Belarus over human rights abuses, alleged vote rigging in the 2020 presidential election, a brutal crackdown on protesters, the forced landing of a Ryanair flight, a migration crisis at the European Union border, as well as support of Russia’s war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities in Minsk responded by branding all EU countries as “unfriendly.” \u0141uka\u0161enka usually addresses the people of these countries instead of their leaders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
