June 11, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> The Minsk City Court has sentenced Elena Ramanauskien\u0117, who was in charge of marketing at the Belorus health resort in Lithuania’s Druskininkai, to six years in prison in a trial behind closed doors, ONT<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prosecutor charged that woman and an unnamed resort manager had been recruited by the Lithuanian State Security Department and shared records on resort guests, including high-ranking Belarusian officials, for more than 10 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The manager had been already sentenced to nine years in prison, ONT<\/em> said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ramanauskien\u0117, 59, was born in Minsk and had Belarusian citizenship, according to 15min.lt<\/em>. Last year, the woman reportedly ran in the Druskininkai local election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In December 2022, the Committee for State Security (KGB) reported the arrest of Andrej Kobel, a former chief physician at the resort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He went on trial in August 2023 in Minsk on charges of high treason for allegedly spying for Lithuania. Authorities have not disclosed any further details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
