{"id":91863,"date":"2024-06-20T20:09:39","date_gmt":"2024-06-20T17:09:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/91863\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"lithuania-reports-fivefold-increase-in-attempts-to-circumvent-sanctions","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/91863\/","title":{"rendered":"Lithuania reports fivefold increase in attempts to circumvent sanctions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>June 20, <em>Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Attempts to circumvent sanctions against Belarus and Russia increased from 14 to 74 in the three spring months, <em>LRT <\/em>reported citing Lithuanian Railways (LTG).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Gediminas \u0160e\u010dkus, LTG&#8217;s director of business resilience, the new trend may be an attempt to test sanctions controls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LTG Cargo CEO Egl\u0117 \u0160im\u0117 noted that four railcars were not allowed into the country in March, 10 in April and 62 in May because of the sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most breaches were related to the transportation of petroleum products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the three months, LTG Cargo rejected all requests for petroleum transportation to Russia or its Kaliningrad exclave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On June 2, <em>LRT<\/em> reported that LTG Cargo did not allow a freight car that arrived from Belarus to continue its journey to Russia\u2019s Kaliningrad province because it was marked with Z, a symbol of Russian aggression against Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also read: <a href=\"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/84347\/\">EU plans to expand sanctions against Belarus<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>June 20, Pozirk.
