June 21, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> The Belarusian Investigative Committee is investigating Polish, Lithuanian and Latvian officials for 52 crimes, Chairman D\u017amitryj Hara told reporters today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His remarks, quoted by state media, suggest that the probes focus on officers of the neighboring countries’ border patrol units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hara claimed that suspects were complicit in crimes “against the security of mankind.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The victims are more than 200 foreigners who traveled through Belarus to the European Union, he said, noting that more than 50 of them died and others were wounded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Investigators have compiled case files including victims’ testimonies, photographs, copies of documents and conclusions by forensic experts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The files have been translated and submitted to the United Nations, Hara said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We have not seen any reaction to all this so far,” he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
