June 24, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>Since the start of 2024, Poland has slashed the number of work visas for foreign workers, issuing 32,233 visas to Belarusians, who came second after Ukrainians this year with 47,257 visas, Rzeczpospolita<\/em> reported citing Polish foreign ministry’s data as of June 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In both cases, the numbers fell significantly compared to 2023, it noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decrease may be linked to the suspension of Poland Business Harbor (PBH) in January, as Warsaw suspected that the program may be vulnerable to abuse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Established in September 2020 to attract professionals from Belarus-based IT companies to Poland, PBH was later expanded to include Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A week ago, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk accused the previous Polish government of allowing \u201chundreds of thousands\u201d migrants from Asia and Africa as well as IT specialists from Russia and Belarus to settle down in Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The move helped foreign states set up their spy networks in Poland, he said on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Warsaw issued 93,000 visas to Belarusians under PBH, yet only about 15,000 foreigners with PBH visas from various countries have relocated to Poland since 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
