June 29, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> A special tribunal’s jurisdiction for the crime of Russian aggression against Ukraine should also cover “the role and complicity” of the Belarusian government, says the resolution by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) adopted on June 26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PACE called for an agreement on the model and legal form for the special tribunal as soon as possible, urging other states, the European Union and international organizations to support this process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The resolution signals to Alaksandar \u0141ukasenka and his officials that their crimes will be punished, Pavie\u0142 \u0141atu\u0161ka of the Belarusian opposition transition cabinet said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In February 2022, Russia started a full-scale war against Ukraine in which the Belarusian authorities supported the Kremlin. At the initial stage of the invasion, the Russians used Belarusian territory for the ground operations and shelling of Ukrainian territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka and his officials are also accused of complicity in the forced transfers of Ukrainian children from Russian-held Ukrainian territories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
