July 4, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has published the lists of athletes who will compete in the Paris Olympics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusians are not listed in any category, including doubles and mixed doubles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two months ago, the ITF had allowed neutral tennis players of Belarusian and Russian origin to participate in the Olympics. Only two Belarusians, Aryna Sabalenka and Viktoryja Azaranka (Victoria Azarenka), met the selection criteria at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The International Olympic Committee announced a similar decision last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On June 17, Sabalenka declined to play in the Olympics, citing physical overload and the need to restore her health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Azarenka, another world-class player, made no such statements, but sports media noted that she applied for a tournament in Washington, which coincides with the Olympics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
