July 5, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>The activity of migrants at the border between Belarus and the European Union has decreased in July in comparison with the spring and early summer, according to Pozirk<\/em>‘s analysis of data from border services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday, Belarus’ EU neighbors prevented at least 31 attempts to cross the border illegally from Belarus, including more than 20 into Poland and 11 into Latvia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the beginning of July, Poland, Latvia and Lithuania have stopped at least 290 illegal entries from the country, a decrease of 68.8 percent from the same period last month and of 52.7 percent from the same period last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pressure on the Polish border has eased after Polish President Andrzej Duda and Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks in Beijing on June 24. Duda informed his counterpart about the challenges posed by the migration crisis to Chinese goods transit to the EU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the beginning of the year, the EU has thwarted at least 23,339 attempts to violate its border from Belarus, up 17.7 percent year on year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The migration crisis has been ongoing since the spring of 2021. Warsaw, Riga and Vilnius consider it a hybrid attack organized by the regimes of Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka and Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
