July 10, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Belarus’ foreign trade in goods and services rose by 3.6 percent year on year to $39.5 billion in January-May, said the central bank, citing preliminary data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exports amounted to $19.5 billion and imports, to $20.9 billion with the deficit at $502.5 million, 2.5 times more than a year earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trade in goods rose by 4.1 percent to $33.6 billion with exports climbing by 3.4 percent to $16 billion and imports, by 4.8 percent to $17.7 billion. The deficit of trade in goods soared by 20.3 percent to about $1.7 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trade in services increased by 0.5 percent to $5.9 billion with exports up 0.2 percent to $3.5 billion and imports up 0.9 percent to $2.3 billion. The surplus narrowed by 1.2 percent to $178.9 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
