July 10, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has extended an edict establishing increased customs duties on shampoos, hair and teeth cleaning products from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zeland until June 30, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The edict of January 12 increased the rates by a factor of five and was effective until the end of June. It was supposedly aimed at protecting Belarus’ economic interests and replacing these imports with products made in the Eurasian Economic Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka has now updated the list of products with plywood, veneered panels and similar veneered wood, raising the duties from 9-12 percent to 50 percent, and with plastic construction parts, from 6.5 percent to 35 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Belarus, there is a ban on the import and sale of certain categories of products from \u201cunfriendly countries.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On December 26, the government extended it until the end of 2024. The same legislation authorizes the import of apples from “unfriendly countries” between April 1 and July 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
