Judge Alena Kapcevi\u010d, who, according to Viasna, has issued at least 39 politically-motivated sentences since 2020, presides over the proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cimur \u0141azko, a doctor convicted twice in 2020 and 2022 of taking part in unauthorized demonstrations, is on trial in Brest to answer charges of terrorism financing in connection with donations presumably to the <em>Nexta<\/em> media organization designated as a terrorist group in Belarus, the Brest branch of Viasna reported. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In \u017dodzina, Minsk region, Nikita Za\u0142ataro\u016d, arrested in August 2020 at the age of 16 and sentenced to four and a half years in prison, was tried on charges of malicious disobedience to the prison administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Valery Boj\u0161a and \u015aviat\u0142ana Bohush, the Mazyr refinery employees arrested on July 10, were convicted of distributing extremist content, a minor offense punishable by a fine or a jail term of up to 15 days. The sentence is unknown, the Homiel branch of Viasna reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Telegram-channels linked to the police reported the arrest of an unidentified Brest resident over a TikTok video mocking a policeman and Dzianis Harba\u010do\u016d, a tattoo artist, in Mahilo\u016d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Viciebsk Regional Court closed down the Belarusian Chanbara Sports Federation established in September 2016, the Viciebsk branch of Viasna reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Penal Colony N3 in Vi\u0107ba, Viciebsk region, will stop accepting parcels on July 15 until the end of August, MAYDAY.TEAM reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Palina-\u0160arenda Panasiuk, an outspoken critic of the government, has been transferred from Homiel\u2019s pre-trial detention center to the national mental health center in Minsk for an examination ordered by investigators, her husband said on Facebook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of July 11, human rights defenders identified at least 1,405 political prisoners but the real number is considerably higher because many cases go undocumented.
