July 17, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Ukraine is aware of at least seven agreements signed between Belarusian authorities and public bodies of the annexed Crimea, Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said<\/a> on Facebook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In June, the authorities of Viciebsk and the Viciebsk region concluded agreements with the occupation authorities of Simferopol, Feodosia and the Saky district of the peninsula. A protocol of intent on the establishment of the Viciebsk-Crimea free economic zone was also signed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deal-making violated international law, Sybiha said. He is confident that it would not be possible without the permission of Belarus’ top leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“All these agreements are a clear and documented demonstration that the Republic of Belarus recognizes the Russian occupation,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ukraine’s law-enforcement agencies document all illegal actions threatening its sovereignty and territorial integrity, he added. Officials drafting and signing these papers may face sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sybiha warned Belarus against “flirting with the criminal authorities” in the temporarily occupied territories of his country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an interview with RIA Novosti<\/em> in November 2021, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka called<\/a> the Ukrainian peninsula Russian. “Crimea, I said at the time, is de facto Russian Crimea . . . After the referendum, Crimea also became de jure Russian,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The government in Minsk supported the Russian invasion of Ukraine launched on February 24, 2022, and has made no secret of its cooperation with occupation authorities in conquered territories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
