{"id":96155,"date":"2024-07-17T20:30:18","date_gmt":"2024-07-17T17:30:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/96155\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"belarus-to-disband-three-more-sports-associations-in-crackdown-on-ngos","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/96155\/","title":{"rendered":"Belarus to disband three more sports associations in crackdown on NGOs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>July 17, <em>Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Judges may shut down three sports organizations on July 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a schedule of court sessions, the Minsk City Court will consider the justice ministry&#8217;s request to close down the Belarusian Darts Federation, registered in 1999, and the Belarusian National Federation of American Football, founded in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the same day, the Brest Regional Court will consider a request from the regional executive committee to disband Vietra\u017a, a sports club for disabled people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On July 10, courts considered closing down FC Nioman Ahra, FC Zabudova XXI Century and the Belarusian Federation of Sports Chanbara; and on July 12, the Belarusian Powerlifting Federation. The rulings are unknown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In June, court schedules featured lawsuits to shut down the Phoenix Mixed Martial Arts Club, the Belarusian Federation of Combined Strength Events, the Aikibudo Association of Traditional Martial Arts, the Belarusian Shotokan Karate Federation, the Po\u0142ack sports club, the Street Workout Federation, the Belarusian Yoshinkan Aikido Federation, the Belarusian Bandy Federation and the Belarusian Athletes&#8217; Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Belarusian government disbanded at least 1,696 associations between August 2020 and late May 2024, including NGOs and trade unions, said the Lawtrend human rights organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also read: <a href=\"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/92806\/\">Belarusian government dissolves bandy federation<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>July 17, Pozirk.
