July 18, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Cuban President Miguel D\u00edaz-Canel has strongly condemned US sanctions against Belarus at a meeting with Belarusian Prime Minister Raman Ha\u0142o\u016d\u010danka in Havana, the Cuban foreign ministry reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials from both countries and Ra\u00fal Castro, a Cuban Revolution leader and brother of the late Fidel Castro, attended the meeting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ministry named the Belarusian officials: Alaksandar Jahora\u016d, deputy head of Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka’s administration; Siarhiej \u0141uka\u0161evi\u010d, first deputy foreign minister; Valeryj Barano\u016dski, ambassador to Cuba, and D\u017amitryj Dzieravinski, from the foreign ministry’s Latin America department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

D\u00edaz-Canel thanked the Belarusians for supporting Cuba “in its fight against a blockade.” He noted that Belarus objected to the inclusion of Cuba in a list of countries that allegedly support terrorism. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus demands that Cuba be removed from the list of state sponsors of terrorism, to which it was added in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The president described Cuba and Belarus as “countries resisting imperial aggression.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For his part, Ha\u0142o\u016d\u010danka said Belarus stands with Cuba and other nations in the face of sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The parties expressed their interest in closer ties, especially in trade and economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before Cuba, Ha\u0142o\u016d\u010danka visited Venezuela. He then went to Nicaragua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
