July 19, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Alaksiej Dzikavicki, acting director of the Polish-based Belsat TV<\/em>, has dismissed the allegations of irregularities published on the Onet<\/em> portal as lies and libel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dzikavicki said the author of the report, Jacek Har\u0142ukowicz, did not even bother to ask him for comment, in line with the standards of quality journalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report said that 10 managers, including Dzikavicki and Agnieszka Romaszewska-Guzy, Belsat<\/em>‘s former director, were suspected of mismanagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The channel allegedly signed 248 contracts without competition, many of which were allegedly not executed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Har\u0142ukowicz, an investigative journalist, said the probe into Belsat<\/em>‘s finances was launched on July 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The channel might have lost about seven million zlotys (about $1.75 million) because of the alleged wrongdoings, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belsat<\/em>‘s main sponsor is the Polish foreign ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Soon, a special statement explaining the situation in detail will be prepared and sent to the Onet<\/em> editorial office and other media,” Dzikavicki said on Facebook. “If they refuse to publish it, legal steps may be taken,” he warned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
