July 20, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The Ministry for Emergency Management has been tasked with “fundamentally changing our warning system,” said D\u017amitryj Krutoj, head of the Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enak’s administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On a trip to the Mahilo\u016d region, he told reporters that the ministry’s SMS alerts “make citizens smile” and are ineffective, Bie\u0142ta<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“So, we and our colleagues from the Ministry for Emergency Management are thinking about the wartime format. Warning devices and loud sirens will be activated immediately in case of hurricane winds and foreseeable dreadful phenomena. And people will understand that they need to run for cover,” the official said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 13-14, severe weather caused widespread damage to the power grid and disrupted water supplies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six people died from the elements, according to the Ministry for Emergency Management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
