July 25, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> In the three months since the launch of the automated incident processing system, Belarusian banks have suspended payments worth 10 million rubels (over $3 million), and law-enforcement bodies \u2013 payments worth 2.7 million rubels, Prosecutor General Andrej \u0160vied said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He told a meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization prosecutors in Bishkek that his office, the Committee for State Security (KGB), the Investigative Committee, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs are allowed to block debit transactions on the accounts and electronic wallets of theft suspects for up to 10 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The system’s operation made it possible to quickly suspend the flow of stolen funds through accounts and seize them,” \u0160vied said, as quoted by his office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In August 2023, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka signed an edict on combatting unauthorized payments, obliging the National Bank to organize the exchange of information between law-enforcement agencies and payment services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The edict authorized law enforcers to suspend transactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In line with the document, the central bank’s automated incident processing system collects, stores, organizes, and shares information about such payments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
