July 30, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The Ukrainian command has located a contingent of up to 5,000 troops in Belarus just outside the Volyn region, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said during his visit to the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said Ukraine was well protected in terms of personnel numbers and defensive lines, but would not elaborate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that the number of border guards was increased in all regions bordering Belarus and Russia in line with his decree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The head of the Volyn Regional Military Administration, Yurii Pohuliaiko, reported that anti-tank ditches, barrier fences and platoon strongholds with firing positions had been set up in the region. Concrete structures and protective facilities for personnel had been built in the areas of a potential enemy offensive, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials in Minsk support Russia\u2019s war of aggression against Ukraine, the largest military conflict in Europe since World War II.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian authorities provided the Russian military with territory to attack its neighbor in the winter and spring 2022. For months, Ukrainian cities were shelled from Belarus. Russian soldiers were also treated by doctors there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
