August 2, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Vijaleta Bardzi\u0142o\u016dskaja has won silver in the women’s trampoline final, the first medal for Belarusian athletes at the Paris Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2024 Olympics began on July 26 and will continue until August 11. China leads in the medal standings with 12 gold, seven silver and seven bronze medals. It is followed by the USA, France, the United Kingdom and Australia. If Belarus had not been excluded from the medal count, it would have tied with Mongolia, Tunisia and Fiji for the 41st place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the war in Ukraine began in February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) urged sports federations to ban Russian and Belarusian athletes from competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It later recommended that some of them could be allowed as neutral athletes under certain conditions, such as not supporting the war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In July, the National Olympic Committee of Belarus approved the list of 16 neutral athletes for the Paris Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian television does not broadcast the Olympics. The IOC has stripped the Belarusian State Television and Radio Company of this right until 2032.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
