Preliminary reports indicate that they include local resident Siarhiej Harbuz and U\u0142adzis\u0142a\u016d Markievi\u010d from \u017dytkavi\u010dy, Homiel region. Both confessed to participating in 2020 protests. The sources also named Ale\u015b \u017dyburt and a certain Illa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the Committee for State Security (KGB) added nine names to its list of people involved in terrorist activity, according to the committee\u2019s Telegram channel. They are: Ja\u016dhien Abramovi\u010d, Barys Hrynkievi\u010d, Viktar Miar\u017alikin, U\u0142adzimir Ba\u0142abanovi\u010d, Siarhiej Kule\u0161, U\u0142adzimir Nikicin, Hleb Sachar, Artur Piad\u017ako, and Kaciaryna Novikava. The list has 1,238 entries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Officials also updated the list of extremist content, banning the Telegram channels and chats Bajkalskaja 66, Chram Gotcharda, Ukraina Online: Naviny | Palityka, Realnyi Kyiv | Ukrayna, Zalizna Sich, MILITANT ZONE and Kommentarii Belamova. In addition, they banned the Instagram page denroy 86, the TikTok page sokarkin and and the Facebook pages Na\u0161 Dom and Dapamoha Bielarusam i Ukraincam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authorities detained at least six journalists between January and July 2024, Press Club Belarus reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of August 8, human rights defenders identified at least 1,385 political prisoners but the real number is considerably higher because many cases go undocumented.
