Over the past 30 years, Minsk has seen a 20% population increase, reaching nearly 2 million residents. In contrast, the population in other regions of the country has declined by between 9% and 25%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-flourish wp-block-embed-flourish\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" title=\"Interactive or visual content\" src=\"https:\/\/flo.uri.sh\/visualisation\/22360875\/embed#?secret=MvbvA3ax8o\" data-secret=\"MvbvA3ax8o\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" height=\"575\" width=\"500\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2024, the capital&#8217;s population grew by 3,868 people, while the population in other regions decreased, with losses ranging from 3,932 in the Minsk region to 10,644 in the Homiel region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-flourish wp-block-embed-flourish\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" title=\"Interactive or visual content\" src=\"https:\/\/flo.uri.sh\/visualisation\/22361178\/embed#?secret=b4RqpAmtv8\" data-secret=\"b4RqpAmtv8\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" height=\"575\" width=\"500\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Urban population<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The urban population, which now totals 7.2 million, represents 78.8% of the country&#8217;s total. However, it decreased by 15,595 in 2024, marking the third consecutive year of decline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-flourish wp-block-embed-flourish\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" title=\"Interactive or visual content\" src=\"https:\/\/flo.uri.sh\/visualisation\/22361532\/embed#?secret=U4mUL3feuM\" data-secret=\"U4mUL3feuM\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" height=\"575\" width=\"500\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rural Population<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rural population has decreased by 31,103, bringing the total to 1.9 million.
