Dismissals for misconduct on the rise since 2020

September 24, Pozirk. Dismissals for absenteeism or violations of job regulations rose 6.9 percent compared to numbers reported in the same period in 2020 to 22,173 in January-July, according to the Nationals Statistics Committee (Biełstat) data analyzed by Pozirk.

In the first seven months of 2024, Biełstat reported a 9.97-percent excess of dismissals over recruitments, with 390,013 workers laid off and 354,640 hired, according to the official statistics.

In July, the Belarusian economy employed about 4.12 million people, 0.13 percent fewer than in January.
