Polish president refuses to stand for a COP29 group picture with Łukašenka

November 12, Pozirk. Polish President Andrzej Duda has not showed up for a COP29 climate summit group photo session in Baku because Alaksandar Łukašenka was posing among other leaders, Poland’s TVP reported.
Last year, Duda and his Latvian and Lithuanian counterparts refused to have their picture taken with the Belarusian authoritarian leader during the UN Climate Change Conference in Dubai.
Many global leaders have skipped the Baku event, including the Brazilian, Chinese, European Commission, French, Russian and US presidents.
Łukašenka, who arrived in Baku on November 11, intends to speak about responses climate change. The used the previous climate conference to criticize Western leaders.
The COP29 conference will continue until November 22.
