Defense ministry to purchase $3.3m worth of UAVs

April 27, Pozirk. The Belarusian Ministry of Defense plans to purchase 10.1 million rubels (about $3.3 million) worth of unmanned aerial vehicles before the end of the year, according to the government’s procurement website.
The ministry seeks to purchase 187 Caddx X10 (AI version) FPV drones, 190 Caddx X10 (IR version) FPV drones, 20 FPV drone sets, 81 tactical unmanned aerial systems based on the DJI Mavic 3 Thermal multicopter and 83 tactical unmanned aerial systems based on the Autel EVO MAX 4T multicopter.
If it cannot find these models, it will purchase their analogues.
“Most of these are Chinese-made drones,” said the Belarusian aviation Telegram channel OtVinta.
“It is worth noting that in addition to Chinese-made UAVs, the Belarusian defense ministry has been actively purchasing various modifications of the Russian UAV Supercam as well as the Belarusian UAV Berkut-3 over the past few years,” it added.
The defense ministry regularly conducts exercises involving drone operators.
On April 23, Alaksandar Łukašenka signed an edict simplifying the procedure for importing civilian UAVs and aircraft models to Belarus in the interest of security and law-enforcement organizations.
In December 2024, the head of the Armed Forces’ drones department, Michaił Branski, announced specialized classes to train UAV operators at military faculties and departments of all higher education institutions in Belarus.
