Minsk planning to criminalize unauthorized use of drones

May 1, Pozirk. The Belarusian government drafted a bill containing a proposal to criminalize the unauthorized use of drones, says a document posted on the National Legal Internet Portal.
If approved, a new Criminal Code Article 3001 would punish actions involving the use of civilian drones and model aircraft. The latter may include toys operated by remote controls.
Unauthorized import, storage, circulation, operation and manufacture of civil UAVs and model aircraft committed within a year after the first violation, would carry a punishment ranging from community service to up to two years in prison, the bill said.
Meanwhile, recent Alaksandar Łukašenka’s edict simplified the procedure for importing civilian UAVs and aircraft models for security and law-enforcement organizations.
