Foreign ministry advises Belarusians against visiting Israel and Iran
June 16, Pozirk. The foreign ministry has strongly advised Belarusians against visiting Israel and Iran, citing tension between the two countries.
It said its consular services in the two countries make appointments only in exceptional circumstances.
The ministry reiterated that evacuation lists are being compiled in Iran and that it is coordinating its operations with Russia.
Earlier, it advised Belarusians to flee Israel via a checkpoint between Eilat and Egypt’s Taba.
On June 16, TASS reported that Russian diplomats helped evacuate several nationals of Belarus, Serbia, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan from Iran.
Israel has been pounding targets in Iran since June 13. Its pinpoint strikes killed commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Armed Forces, as well as intelligence officers and nuclear scientists. Tehran reported more than 200 dead and some 1,300 injured.
Israel says its goal is to inflict critical damage on Iran’s nuclear and missiles capabilities.
Iran retaliated with mass strikes using ballistic missiles and drones. Reports put Israeli casualties at 24 dead and hundreds of wounded.
