Cichanoŭskaja at Nobel Peace Prize ceremony: resisting dictatorship is global mission

December 11, Pozirk. Belarusian opposition leader Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja attended the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony yesterday in Oslo at the invitation of Maria Machado, a Venezuelan opposition leader who won this year’s prize, her press office reported.
“The fight against dictatorship is not only a Venezuelan struggle – it is a global task,” Cichanoŭskaja said on X. “Belarusians face the same repression, violence and lies. This prize lifts all who resist tyranny, everywhere freedom is under attack.”
Belarusian human rights champion Aleś Bialacki, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2022, is held behind bars and activists continue to seek freedom for him and all jailed Belarusian dissidents, the politician stressed.
