Belarus’ security forces arrested 12 media workers in 2025 – BAJ

December 26, Pozirk. Security forces in Belarus conducted 34 raids and detained 12 media workers in 2025, said the Belarusian Association of Journalists (BAJ).
The BAJ recorded more than 100 instances of persecution of journalists in exile.
Authorities declared 42 media projects extremist groups. Belarusian authorities continue to hold 28 media workers in prisons.
Alaksandar Łukašenka and his security forces launched the crackdown on the media after the 2020 mass protests against election fraud, imprisoning dozens of journalists on extremism-related charges and forcing hundreds of others in exile.
