February 25, Pozirk. Belarus, along with Russia, voted against the United Nations General Assembly’s resolution on a just and lasting peace in Ukraine, submitted by Kyiv on the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion carried out with the support of the Belarusian authorities.
The resolution was adopted with 107 votes in favour, 51 abstentions and 12 countries opposing it. In addition to Belarus and Russia, these include Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cuba, Eritrea, Iran, North Korea, Mali, Nicaragua, Niger and Sudan.

The resolution calls for “an immediate, full and unconditional ceasefire” between Russia and Ukraine, reiterating the support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders.
The document also calls for the exchange of prisoners of war and the return of forcibly transferred or deported civilians, including children.
In February 2022, Russia started a full-scale war against Ukraine in which the Belarusian authorities supported the Kremlin, allowing Russian troops to attack Ukraine from Belarus on multiple occasions and supplying arms to Moscow.
