Cichanoŭskaja holds talks with Spain’s top officials

April 7, Pozirk. Belarusian opposition leader Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja has met Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez during her ongoing visit to Spain, her press office reports.
The politician is expected to hold talks with Senate President Pedro Rollán and Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares Bueno.
Cichanoŭskaja’s visit will also feature a meeting with the Belarusian communities in Spain tomorrow and a guest lecture at IE University on her struggle for democracy in Belarus.
Earlier this year, Spain decided to recognize expired Belarusian passports. Cichanoŭskaja lobbied for this move during her visit to Madrid in June 2025.
